What is Duck Pin bowling? Well, duck pin bowling is similar to ten pin bowling, it’s primarily played on the east coast of the United States. Obviously it uses a different size pin and different size ball. The pin in duck pin bowling is only about 9 inches tall, 9.5 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter. The bowling ball is about 5 inches in diameter with a maximum weight of about 4 pounds, it also does not have holes.

Duck pin bowling is scored similarly to ten pin bowling, if you get a strike on the first ball, it’s counted the same as a strike in ten pin bowling. If you get all the pins down on the second ball it’s a spare, and it’s scored the same way. But, you’re allowed a third shot in each frame. If you don’t knock all the pins down on the first two balls, then you get a third shot and just get the total pin count that you knock down on that third shot.
