Single Leg Standing Exercise
The purpose of this balance activity is to improve proprioception, muscle coordination, and strength. This is a good exercise to build muscle endurance in active adults. It is a good activity to prevent falls in older adults. While balancing, allow a slight bend in the knee, maintain an upright posture, and focus your thoughts on the foot/ankle movements necessary to maintain balance. Be sure to have stable objects positioned to your left and right to assist with balance and prevent falls.
