Kata Niju Shi Ho

This is Kata Niju Shi Ho in Shotokan. Originally, this kata was called Niseshi or Ni Sei Shi. The schools Shorin-ryu and Shito-ryu maintained this designation. In Wado-ryu as well as in Shotokan it is now called Niju shi ho. The name “24 steps” refers to the number of steps in this kata.
This Kata has 33 movements and it should take about 40 to 50 seconds max to complete its execution.
The movements in this kata resemble waves breaking on a cliff. There are two kiais in this Kata. This Kata is a requirement to advance from Ni Dan (2nd Dan) to San Dan (3rd Dan)
