The Cartwheel guard pass
Stephan Kesting teaches the Cartwheel Guard Pass, he says if he can do it then you can also do it. To get started all you need to do is be able to do a Cartwheel, if you cannot, then try get started on it.
This Cartwheel guard pass is very famous, just like Stephan I remember Sakuraba doing it, I was blown away the first time I saw him doing it.
The Cartwheel guard pass tips
I have tested this Cartwheel on the mat and works like charm. Don’t bend your arms when you do it or you’ll hit your head.
- Look where you’re going.
- One hand goes between your opponent’s legs and the other on his shoulder.
- Use momentum to increase speed and power on the move.
- Practice your cartwheel alone first, make sure you are comfortable doing it before doing it to someone.
- If you don’t do it right at once then keep trying and don’t give up.
