The Brutal Beginnings of the UFC

UFC Brutal Beginnings

I was just a kid when I saw the first UFC, at that time fighting in the ground was something I would never do. I have trained Jiu Jitsu and I have my favorite techniques.

I respect Jiu Jitsu very much, it is very effective and the proof is here, it can be seen on this video. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu dominated the entire game, most fighters had no clue what to do on the ground, they were great at striking, leg kicks, devastating punches but once on the mat without balance all those punches and kicks became useless.

It is all about technique. “No one could figure him out”, that was what happened when Royce Gracie stepped on the octagon for the first time introducing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the world.

Today if you are in the MMA and don’t know BJJ then you are dead meat, at least you need to know the basic moves.

It is always recommended to find a certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who can guide you through all these techniques. Do not try them on your own because you might get injured.
